About Producfy
Producfy is an independent site of how-to guides for people who run work from a laptop: remote team leads, office managers and small business owners. Most of them have a spreadsheet that almost does what they need. We write the missing formula, query or script and show it working on sample data.
Who runs Producfy
Producfy is run by Nick Casey, a tech entrepreneur, who is the author of its guides and responsible for what they say.
Why this site exists
Small teams run a surprising amount of their work on spreadsheets and scripts, and a snippet alone rarely shows whether it did the right thing. Each guide here shows the input, the code and the output, so you can tell whether it worked.
How guides are written and checked
Guides are drafted with AI assistance, then reviewed before publication. Each one ends with a note saying how that guide was checked, because the checks differ:
- SQL: the main queries are run against the published sample data in DuckDB, and the results are compared with the tables on the page.
- Formulas: several are evaluated on the sample data in HyperFormula, an independent spreadsheet engine. It isn't Google Sheets or Excel, so results there could differ. Others have only been reviewed.
- Apps Script: scripts are syntax-checked and reviewed against the published API documentation. Unless a note says otherwise, they haven't been run in a live account, so try them on test data first.
These checks run again whenever the site is rebuilt, so a query or formula that stops matching its published output blocks the update.
We don't publish roundups of "best" apps, and no vendor pays for a guide or sees it before publication.
What we leave out
Producfy doesn't give tax, legal, accounting or investment advice. A guide about invoice files covers where the files go and what they are called, and stops there.
How the site makes money
Producfy is supported by advertising. Ads are served by third parties and don't influence what we cover. The privacy policy explains how ad cookies work and how to opt out.
